Moving through life with constant anxiety can be tiring and will sap your willpower away the fastest possible way. While there are long term sustainable ways to live with low anxiety, there are times where we have a lot to chew on our plate and this is where l-theanine does its magic. It’s not exactly a magic pill but it is an affordable and effective way of reducing anxiety and enhancing focus for weeks.
When I was in college there were times that I really needed to relax and concentrate on my studies and especially during exam periods, so after doing a bit of research on the net I found that theanine for anxiety was an affordable and long term way to help me study a bit longer with a bit more focus. Though I’m not much of a nerd I managed to pull 1-2 hours of extra study time each day without feeling exhausted at the end of each study session.
L-theanine Dosage for Anxiety
The correct l-theanine dosage for anxiety varies with each person and how long it is used. I personally found that starting from 300-500 mg and maximum 600-800 mg on a daily basis each morning or afternoon was enough for me up to two weeks. Another one of l-theanine uses is to mix it with coffee. It is water soluble and the taste is almost non existent unlike phenibut. It is a very common and safe combination which helps to alleviate the come down effect from using coffee. You don’t really feel as drained as before and you will be able to continue your work without much trouble.
Personally, I use it during early afternoon hours when I feel the most tired but if I wake up and it feels like ‘one of these strange morning’ days I will take it as soon as I wake up and mix it with my coffee.
While having the theanine anxiety advantage for long term it cannot be used forever because it is possible to build tolerance to it. It would usually take me up to two weeks to max my dosage up to 800 mg per day starting from the 300 -500 mg of initial dose. The good news is that I did not experience any theanine anxiety withdrawal symptoms. I didn’t feel depressed or angry, irritated and more stressed. Essentially, a supplement like this is not going to leave you with any nasty side effects if there are any, but tolerance is built quite fast.
L-theanine for anxiety is one of the most effective and affordable means to help you do what you have to do, especially when it comes to tedious tasks that need your full attention. It has been tried multiple times before and it is incredibly safe to use.
